The two days travel to Altongrad were uneventful, except for Fang meeting a man with dynamite strapped to his chest there was nothing truly important to recall. As the party disembarked they were greeted by not only the traditional Bazavluk customs squad but a Major of the Scuron Army, a man who called himself The Ironfist Engineer, he was placing them under arrest for terrorism and theft, the party of course resisted. The battle raged with our heroes almost laying the entire pier to waste until more Scuron Officers showed up, one of them created a Blast of Flame stronger than Kyledin's and summoned forth a massive Fire Elemental, the group took the female officer's offer of surrender. Once inside the Embassy the group was pumped for information, surprisingly their information was important. The Colonel than decided to immediately enlist them into the Scuron Army as members of the elite Dark Fists. Their orders are simple: Stop Lord Skull at all costs. The party was also given code names as follows: Avi- The Sunbeam Cleric Kyledin- The Radical Summoner Navara- The Firebolt Mage Fang- The Brown Scaled Fist Link- The Two-Arrow Elf Vrana- The Minstrel Merri- The Grey Judge Jim the Elf- The Irrational Nature Caller
The Task Force was then sent north by train to get to the Furdinar River so they could pass into the Barrier Desert (the assumed destination of Lord Skull). Of course this was a very dangerous train ride, upon it Cultists who prayed to a Draconic Deity they referred to as God were blowing up the train because the people on it had been judged. Still even with the train destroyed the party was able to make it to the riverside town where they chartered a boat to head down river. Once aboard the party began preparing for any attacks from the sea, of course, the beasts that dwell inside the river were not the problem. From high above, a massive bird known as a Roc sailed down striking Kyledin. Fang leapt atop it just as Avi called forth a meteor strike sending it and Fang into the water. Fang eventually made it aboard the ship when they Roc tried to grip Avi in its talons. To better allow Fang to fight the Roc, Avi gave him Rumpole's Arm (his flying halberd). Of course after this occured, the massive bird siezed Kyledin in its mighty talons and began flying away. Fang gave chase, and thanks to Avi's searing light spell the beast was felled. Of course Kyledin had still been in the beast's claws forcing Fang to make a daring midair rescue. Now our heroes are once mroe travelling down the river peacefully...or are they?...

After dealing with pirates our lucky adventurers find that their ship had been heavily damaged during the battle, and that they must go to a small port village for repairs. While in the town they met Otto the Inventioneer, who used them to test one of his inventions before ignoring them. They eventually found their way to a tavern called The Dark Scorpion. Inside were a few guards, a pair of adventurers, and a shirtless man (obviously some sort of crafter). The group tried to pump people for information, and eventually after a short battle of wills with one of the gaurds they learned that Lord Skull is still travelling through the desert and was slowly making his way towards the mountains. The party then saw Sidithicus and a young woman enter the bar. Sidithicus invited the party to a backroom for food and drinks, which they accepted. Whilst there they didn't learn much, just that Sidithicus was following an agenda set him by a "Boss". After Sidithicus and his female partner returned to thier room, the party dispersed eyes to learn of what they were doing. The eyes transmitted images of the young woman meditating and Sidithicus guarding the door. Kyledin tried to enter her mind but found that within it, was none other than the crazed mage Caren Fongarth back from the dead and in possession of a young woman's body! Before the party could do anything, the village begin to burst into flames. Our heroes ran out of the tavern to see Sidithicus bounding between buildings towards the docks. When they arrived on the scene, they found Sidithicus standing in the center of pools of blood and laughing his head off, atop his head was a massive helmet. Before anything could be done, he teleported away in a pillar of black flame. Now the party had no ship, no village to stay in, and no way of knowing what either Lord Skull or Sidithicus were planning. Yet, as they wandered out of town, a beacon of hope shone in Otto's shop. Remembering that he mentioned a flying vessel, the party inquired about it. He nodded and decided that if they agreed to test it they could have it. Otto told them of how he came about its design in an Ancient Manuscript and how it cost him quite a lot to build it. The party was off in a matter of moments, soaring through the skies and testing out the ship, which they had dubbed The Aurifar. Soon enough they landed in Naught. Once there they learned that the man who had betrayed the people of Naught had returned and with a group of soldier mercenary. The party found him the next day, and began their assault. It was a long grueling battle, and it didn't end till Fang and the Traitor were locked in a fierce grapple, where Fang then threw him into a wall of blades conjured by Avi. The Traitor reduced to little more than a fine dust, the party was free to rest, for now...

(Wow I gotta summarize three meetings)
So after the stop in Naught, the party headed through the Perma Straight. Once there, they were forced to land by Yonder (The Wild Blue Dragon), he challenged them to a duel for their ship, but he was defeated quite easily so the party walked away unscathed and with a more effective power source for the ship. Of course, as they soon learned this was just a ploy and in the end the party ended up in Yonder's small prison area. Once they escaped the group was able to make it to a hangar, and due to some fast talking they were able to retrieve a brand new ship, this one a true Ancient Flying Vessel! The party then entered an ariel battle with Yonder's forces. After defeating the small fighter-craft the party pulled out towards Lake Gregoria. Once there, the group discovered the town to be decimated, and after a quick battle with Lord Skull's personal Ninja, the party was off towards the Oasis of Life. Sadly when the party arrived at the Oasis, they found it under attack, and being plagued by undead hoardes. Thanks to the work of a now-dead cleric, most of the Undead Opposition was destroyed. Yet, an Angel of Decay approached the party's ever faithful Holyman Avi, killing him just with the pure strength of his decaying flesh. With the Ninja and Undead beast on the offensive, the rest of the party fled, staying only long enough to teleport Avi's body back aboard the ship. The group returned to the town of Gregoria where they had Avi reincarnated in the hopes that he would be back to normal, sadly though this did not happen, Avi's body became smaller and furrier. Where once lay a proud and dead symbol of Pelor's Might now sat a badger. This badger was none other than Avi of Pelor, the chosen of his god. While in the town, they purchased barding and readjusted Avi's equipment so he could use it. Heading back to the Oasis, the party once more did battle with the Ninja, and his undead beast, only this time they won! Among the useful items found on the Ninja was a map that pointed to a set of ruins. The party was once more off, soaring through the skies! The ruins were Ancient in design, with most of the top areas non existent, the party descended into the lower chambers. What they found was confusing, the first room they opened was similar to the ruins in Caladon, a desk, a place for storing papers and notes, and some sort of mysterious light producing device. The other rooms though were far different. Inside most of the rooms were large glass chambers, which held strange beasts that defied nature. Finally, our adventurers met somethign that might qualify as sentient. This being was a floating orb that claimed to be o-569, a being that seems to be well over 4, 000 years old. The sphere was quite interested in the party, having never heard of Badgers or Half-Elves, while the party explained what they were, he brought them to Jim's room. Jim is a large ape-like beast with massive tentacles sticking from his back, now staring this deformed beast the party is left with many unanswered questions...

Yes, questions such as what happened to the good old days of finding an exile mage in hiding, instead of the ape/squid hybrids that i can only assume we will better be aquanted to...that and i thought technology was supposed to move forward, not backwards.

Which is one of the major questions archaeologists ask themselves, what happened to the Ancients and their technology?

Bah, that's a North American badger. I prefer the European ones: they have a more normal head shape.

And so after taking a good look at G.I.M. (Girralllon Illithid Manimal), and asking a few questions the party left and following O-569 made their way down to the second floor. After viewing bipedal displacer beast assassins, the party entered a peculiar room. The room had a large tapestry bearing the symbol of the deity Pelor on it, they learned that the room belonged to Dr. Piun Pelor, who as Avi discovered through prayer became the deity Pelor. They also learned that the deity Nerull also lived and worked there, he and Pelor had very different views on the experiments being conducted there. After learning this the party descended to the third floor, here they discovered the remnants of projects Living Armor (an insane man who had been forcibly attached to an Iron Golem), and of project Life Spark (three sophisticated scholarly pascifist iron golems). While investigating the library on the third floor, they discovered Lord Skull was trying to gain access to the fifth floor which held an extremely important experiment. The party then descended to the fourth floor, where under invisibility they used O-569 to summon forth Centaurions to help take on the Black Skulls currently in the control room of the base. Avi and Kyledin went with the Centaurions where they battled the Black Skulls, which sadly gave Lord Skull enough time to find a way to get to the fifth floor. Meanwhile, Link and O-569 took on men guarding the door to the Fourth-Fifth floor teleporter. Lord Skull made his way to the Fifth Floor, and Kyledin began securing the experiment (a land based Battle Cruiser) using system over rides, he then summoned forth the Centaurions and mini-tanks and the party descended to the Fifth Floor. Of course Lord Skull just teleported the cruiser out of the base, causing the party to take to the skies in their own ship. From the sky they easily spotted Lord Skull and his ship, which now had men aboard it. The party landed and began wreaking havoc on the cruiser by casting spells from their transport. Then the party converged on Lord Skull after blocking him off from the rest of the ship, the party is now embroiled in battle with Lord Skull...

Don't complain Brian. You at least got some XP outta it, even though you just casted one spell. I, on the other hand, proved to be very useless seeing as arrows can't fly through the hull of our ship to kill stuff. It's times like these that I hate not having damaging spells; just Read Magic, Cure Light Wounds, Cure Moderate Wounds, and Cure Serious Wounds. I should really swap Reaad Magic for Summon Nature's Ally I seeing as I don't read at all in the game, magic or non.
