And Brian.
And that really doesn't have anything to do with, anything really... It just so happened you were out of the range of his fire.

Two of our heroes entered the World Fighting Competition, Fang and Link entered with Merri and Avi as their official healers. The two of them both breezed through the underbouts and then went off to train. Meanwhile, the rest of the party went out to a club known as The Dance Phloor! and had a lot of fun (and Vrana made a bit of money as a street perform), well all except Jim who ended up letting his emotions take control of his new bear as it attacked a women who had just insulted him due to his poor pick up line. Guards were on the scene and quickly arrested Jim, he was charged with endangering the public and sentenced with a public flogging. The next day was the first day of the preliminary fights, but first the opening act of the competition was Jim's Public Flogging introduced by the Black Countess (who also shot a beam of arcane energy at Jim). First was Link's fight, he was up against a cloaked figure, first he shot at the figure with his bow, only to have the man counter with a protection from arrows spell, Link quickly casted Entangle and trapped the figure, then he moved in and began slashing him with his longsword. Sadly the figure was able to bust out and then used a fireball to clear up some space in the arena and harm Link, Link countered with a wand of Lightning Bolts, harming the cloaked figure. The figure shot back with an ice storm, but yet he was killed by Link's wand the next round, and with his death Link gained his equipment, of which all there was was a ring of protection+1. Next was Fang who was up against...a bard, who was dressed in all black and seemed quite morbid. Quickly closing the gap, Fang was able to hit the bard with his own summoned undead creature. In response, the bard made Fang laugh so much he couldn't do anything for a few seconds, in which the bard tried to shoot him but failed. When Fang recovered he moved in and began pummeling the bard....
Meanwhile in another part of the city, Tatsumi, Bryan, and Vrana went off in search ofthe Caladonian Freedom Fighters. They quickly found themselves in the mansion of Veron Mortan, who was happy to hear of their wishes to join the resistance and put their lives on the line for the cuase. He quickly gave them orders to kidnap the Black Countess while she was attending the World Fighitng Competiton, they were each supplied with Wands of Fireball, and they were sent off with terrorists and a some fighters. Soon enough they were travelling through the sewers...
Back in the arena Fang was mauling his bard opponent when, the center of the arena burst forth as some of his party members came onto the scene, along with multiple other terrorists and freedom fighters engaging guards in the stands and spreading death & terror like butter over an english muffin (getting it into all the little nooks and crannies of the stadium). Vrana, Bryan, and Tatsumi with Fang's blind assistance were able to capture the Black Countess and escape with her back into the sewers. Meanwhile, Merri witnessed The Cloaked Figure from the ruins with his Staff of Undeath and a large group of what appeared to be Black Skull Thugs kidnapping a Paladin, who was obviously last year's champion, they dissappeared in a flash and bang that wounded/killed people, and then Merri joined Avi, Link, and Navara in raiding the World Fighting Competition Prize Vualt, walking away with the massive shiny gold-plated belt and 4,000 gold total... Our heroes are now split into three groups: Fang, Bryan, Vrana, and Tatsumi running through the sewers with the kidnapped Black Countess. Jim the Druid in jail. And finally, Avi, Merri, Navara, and Link running off with the competition prizes....what will our heroes do now?!

You forgot the part about the Black Countess being in a bag of holding ;D I shall give a hint for my as well: changing alliances and most likely alignments as well. Though I really was looking forward to impersonating the Black Countess, but oh well for that.

hmm interesting, all the players have different plans, therefore I remind you that only the people who are together can discuss plans, and if any information about the other groups plan is available or known then no one who knows the other groups information is allowed to act upon it, basically here is what you all know about each other:
Avi's group in relation to Brian's group: You saw your friends commit an act of terrorism and kidnap the ruler of the country.
Brian's Group in relation to Avi's group: You didn't see them enough to see what even happened to them, for all you know they could've died in the attack.
Herb in relation to Brian's group: Herb, despite their interruption of your fight, you assisted them on the assumption that they were in the right, but now it dawns on you that you just kidnapped a ruler and that your party members released violence upon the populace.
Herb in relation to Avi's Group: You last saw Merri in the arena proper, the rest of them you haven't seen in awhile
Brian's group in relation to Herb: As far as you're aware Herb is assisting you.
Bruce in relation to everyone: From what you can remember Bruce some of your party memebers assisted in your arrest and didn't do anything to assist you once you were arrested.

Our heroes now split, they all move for different reasons:
Vrana and Bryan released the Black Countess, who after hearing their poor explanation for their actions, smacked Vrana and kicked her into the sewer. With the help of Fang, Vrana was fished out of the "poo river" and then Fang ran when he realized what his friends had done. He eventually came to a tavern...
In the tavern his friends, having recently "liberated" the prizes of the fighting competition had settled in the tavern to figure out what to do next. While debating this over a few *cough*dozen*cough* mugs of ale, they were hired by a group of extremely foriegn looking people to kill Veron Mortan. A few short moments after being hired, Fang entered and joined them on their mission. Once outside, they were spotted by Vrana and Bryan who quickly returned to the sewers and made their way to Veron Motan's house. The party made their way to Golden Hills, an upscale area in the general vicinity of the original Caladon Keep, once they had a clear view of Mortan's house they sneaked down into the shadow of a building and opened fire upon the guards. While the foriegners, who actually were from the future, made their way around and blew up the gate, the rest of the party scaled the wall and made their way though the back where they encountered guards scrambling outside. Meanwhile: Vrana and Brian made their way through Veron Mortan's house, after being informed by Mortan himself that the mansion was under attack. Once outside they attacked a guard only to have a "grenade" land near them and blow up in their face, and the gate to blow up as well killing the guard who noticed their treachery and harming them as well. They then entered the mansion itself and attacked a group of guards heading out to attack Avi, Navara, and Link. Soon enough the party had all congregated in the back of the mansion and made their descent down into the basement. Once there, they were confronted (but not assualted or threatened) by a group of people from the future, in business suits and trenchcoats, after slaughtering this group, the future people ransacked there bodies, and then assualted Mortan with grenades, sadly though their assault failed... Yet, as the entire party rushed through (after having just ransacked a food and alchohol storage area), they saw the Cloaked Figure and a well muscled man appear in the room next to Veron Mortan and his bodyguard, the well muscled man rippedo ut Mortan's heart and handed it to The Cloaked Figure, who cast a spell on it then disappeared. With the death of Mortan's bodyguard, the future people returned to their own time...and the party now had little direction.
As they cooked their stolen beef and rested, the group reviewed what they knew: The Cloaked Figure had stolen Mortan's Heart (which probably could be used in a dark ritual), kidnapped last year's champion of the World Fighting Competition: A Paladin of Kord, been given the Staff of Undeath from what appeared to be a deity, and had stolen an undecipherable book. This information generally gave them no direction, so they decided to learn more about the book from the person who hired them to ifnd it: Professor Alum. Once there they learned that the book was in a dialect of Ancient and found in ruins that were very hard to determine their original use (note there was no large door or undead in the ruins when they went). When questioned as to why the book was important, Professor Alum informed the aprty that the Ancients could be the people who humanity descened from or who created humanity, and that the book most likely offered an answer as to what the ruins were. Having this also have lead them nowhere, the group made their way to people who did know a bit of something about the book, the Dire Wolf crime syndicate. Once there they learned that though its exact contents were unknown, the syndicate knew it could be used for "dark, powerful stuff", hence why the crime syndicate wanted it. The Dire Wolves asked who had stolen the book, and when informed it was the Black Skulls or better yet a powerful spellcaster involved with the Black Skulls, Whine (the syndicate representitive with whom the party spoke), was skeptical if not humoured. When asked whether there was anywhere they could find the truth about the Black Skulls, Whine suggested Freeport in the nation of Fredonia, a city/nation of thieves, pirates and general criminals. Whine then helped the group determine how to get to Freelance. Now with direction and a chosen mode of travel (by boat), the group searched for people who would willing go to Freelance. They learned of the Honorable Pirate: Captain Kampht, a gnome with a powerful vessel. They quickly located him in the harbor, and boarded, being told before hand that they were "On their Honor", they quickly located the man and when they pormised him 1,000 gold, he set sail immediately: with a start of his engines and a quick dispatch of orders the ship was off! Bringing our heroes to errant ventures on unknown shores!

and then assualted Mortan with grenades, sadly though their assault failed...
Wow, what an understatement that was.
Whine then helped the group determine how to get to Freelance.
His name is "Whine?!" Ahahahahaha!

So as our intrepid heroes went below deck (where they met Scruffy the porn reading janitor) the ship was attacked by a group of Kuo-Tuo. As the group (Link, Vrana, Bryan the Conjurer, and Navara) made their way onto the deck, Vrana released a fireball from her wand exploding apart the bow of the ship. The battle quickly ended, and Vrana and the party were quickly thrown into the brig (more of just hung from the portside of the boat becuase Vrana's fireball destroyed the brig). Her party quickly turned Vrana in, and while she was placed on the plank she broke free of her bindings and flipped over the centuar guard/2nd in command Mr. Smithers. Bryan tried to enchant Kampht into letting them go free but failed and Kampht threw a massive axe at him, while Link tried to remove the axe, Bryan enchanted Mr. Smithers to attack Kampht, who dispatched his second with little remorse. Eventually Vrana settled the problem by paying an extra 1000 gold for the voyage. When they arrived in Freelance the group quickly sent off in search of information (after selling stuff and getting very little money). Eventually they came to a bistro which was supposedly a hub of information, but until they were able to crack the code all they could hear were things like, "When does the Purple Flower Bloom" 'The Purple Flower blooms at noon.' Once they cracked the code they were able to gain lots of information. The information is as follows:
-The name of the person they’re looking for is Lord Skull, and he is well known for his ruthlessness, cunning, and prowess in hand-to-hand combat. -He was recently spotted heading towards Vandalia, with him was a large entourage about the size of a small army, and a paladin who looked a lot like last year's World Fighting Competition Champion. -He seems to be preparing for something.
Also, the group learned of a Black Skull hangout called The Cherry Tornado. The Cherry Tornado turned out to be a swing dancing club (A/N: think Cafe Bismark from Swing Kids), they were quickly pointed backstage where they met Cherri Tornado, leader of the Black Skulls, a female Lich. They learned that Lord Skull's real name is Larian, that he has bad ties with most of The Black Skulls, that the Black Skulls are really only a gang becuase Necromancy is frowned upon in society, and that Cherri would be very happy to see Lord Skull dead. The party was also fed cookies and finally learned that evil doesn't mean that a person is mean, sadistic, and vile. Finally the party settled into a small inn where they were attacked by none other than Sidithicus the Evil Ranger (well more like his minions). The minions weren't interested in harming the party directly instead they set the building ablaze, using his summoned bison, Bryan was able to but a hole in the wall which the party used to jump to safety. Now our heroes sit in an alleyway in Freelance with very little information to go on, what shall they do now?
