After several long turns through the winding bowels of Fox River High School, Arkadi finally leads Warrington to the loading dock. The loading dock is empty at this time of day, as shipments have a tendency to come in early in the morning. Arkadi opens the smaller side door next to the large loading door, and Warrington pauses, nodding to the Russian,

[Likewise], he answers. [And I hope you find what you are looking for. But before you go, allow me to ask how I can get in touch with you, when it comes time to finish our transaction?]

The cat smiles wide, and replies, [Just call my name three times Lucky, and I'll be there.] The cat then slowly fades away into a trail of smoke that wanders outside into the air, leaving only a grin in the door way before that too fades.

Arkadi watches the cat go with mixed emotions: Glad that he was able to resolve things diplomatically, but a little worried as to what consequences his actions would elicit.
Dealing with Fades was always a risky proposition. In one way, they were never to be trusted. But in another, it paid to show them the same sort of courtesies he would show any human. Warrington hadn't struck him as anything but curious about the world, and his unsettling appearance and enigmatic nature were normal for a usually benign Fade.
But that didn't stop him from worrying, as he flicks his cigarette on the concrete of the loading dock and stamps it out, before going back inside to finish off his work day.

As Arkadi is able to shrug off the appearance of the singular creature that he has released upon the perfectly stable town of Aurora, he can not shake the fear that now dozens or hundreds of them might start flooding into the air conditioning room. Oh how the school children would complain about the heat, it would be terrible.

Recalling his early intimation that where there is a recently arrived Fade, there is certain to be a vehicle for their transit to his world, Arkadi decides to revisit the mechanical room again and give it a thorough search with his flashlight, drawing on his past experience to help him narrow the search.

It doesn't take very long for Arkadi to search through the large machines before he comes upon a grouping of stubby blue hunks of wax that were certainly once candles arranged in a semi-circle against a wall. Dispersed between the candles are piles of salt, or perhaps white sand, but the majority has been swept away. The wall has become what looks like a shimmering pool of water, through which he can see a strangely designed forest.

Arkadi puzzles over the remains of candles and the sand-like substance around them, looking for clues. Was this the work of someone in THIS world? It was, after all, on this side of the portal.
He looks at the portal itself, and at the world beyond. Was there evidence of ritual on that side as well?
[Only one way to find out,] Arkadi mutters, and steps through the portal for a look, careful not to break any of the lines drawn by the sand, lest he lock himself in the other realm.

Arkadi feels somewhat uncomfortable as he steps through the veil into the Other Realm, and being on the other side is akin to being slightly inebriated. He finds himself in side a lush, if somewhat dark forest, the foliage is of more than just green with leaves being a variety of shades: blue, purple, orange, yellow. Turning around yields a look through a shimmering patch of air that shows the view of the machine room back at the high school. On this side of the portal he sees no evidence of ritual workings.

Arkadi stumbles with the first step he takes on alien soil, holding his head as he regains his footing.
[Aya....I'll never get used to that....]
Regaining enough of his senses to give his immediate surroundings a once over, he notices no evidence of ritual on this end of the portal. Satisfied with this discovery, he gives the forest a last look, before turning to leave.

[Well you are a new one,] Calls a voice from somewhere in the woods, though Arkadi doesn't see any apparent source of the voice.

His foot falls short of the shimmering doorway home. He executes a slow roll of the head, his eyes following the motion.
It's always something....
He turns to address the voice, estimating a direction.
[What's new to you is old news to me, tovarisch. If you were on the other side, I would be saying the same of you.]

Arkadi is greeted by a light giggle from the forest. From behind one of the many trees, though Arkadi notes that it was one certainly not wide enough to hide such a creature, steps a woman or more importantly what appears to be a woman. She is tall with fair skin, lips the color of a freshly budded red rose, and hair that seems to be the color of a bonfire teenagers light in midsummer. The woman-creature is wearing a long green dress which seems to be woven from the finest silk if it is made of a mortal material at all. The one thing that he notices however is the eyes, slitted like a cat's, and in a shade of dark blue or perhaps purple that you only see at the end of August. She smiles, an act which is at the same time both pleasing and positively frightening, [Interesting, you've met someone like me before?]

[Someone like you, yes], he answers, shocked and taken aback.
But then he remembers where he is: Or something like you.....

She smiles another eerie fey smile, [I've met many people like you, they just don't have so many...] She frowns and Arkadi is shocked by her features suddenly turning to that of an old woman, in the blink of an eye though the illusion is gone, [Features like yours.]
