So we've talked a few times about a D&D one-shot, using 3.5 because 4e just isn't worth it. I'm thinking either a 9th or 10th level adventure of standard D&D using a standard world (Dwarves live in mountains, Elves live in forests, Humans have multiple countries, etc.). When would be best for you guys, and what more would you like to know about it?

Well I'm gonna need a couple of days to prepare, so sometime after this weekend. As for classes, I'll talk to you on AIM.

Hmm. Well, I have some ideas: what do other people want to play?

So I have two ideas for a one shot.
The original idea: You have been dispatched to the town of Northrund. Northrund is a collection of homes at the edge of the kingdom that has been complaining of strange creatures attacking local loggers. Apparently the problem has gotten so bad that its stopped them from sending the past two month's taxes. The King wants answers, and you've been sent to find them. Locals believe it is the curse of the meteor which fell in the nearby mountain range centuries ago... It seems that you'll have to make an expedition to the Barrier Peaks!
The Second Idea: You are crew members aboard a spaceship. On the long journey home from your far flung exploration mission the crew enters cryogenic sleep. You awaken with sunlight pouring in through holes in the hull, no computer message greets you, only a rat scurrying across the floor. What the hell happened and where the hell are you?

So, Metroid Prime 1's phazon meteor, or Lost in Space, in a nutshell. Would we have guns in the space one? I'm fine with either or.
Either way, I've been toying around with an idea for an elf cleric for some time. Or, if the group would prefer that I not handle the healing after the Land of the Lost campaign, I was thinking maybe a dervish if it would be allowed (or temptest if not).

Guns and/or lasers might be allowed in the spaceship crew member one. As for a dervish or tempest. Unsure.

So I've decided that we will be doing the more traditional Expedition to the Barrier Peaks style adventure. It will be after Avi gets back from San Francisco. The Level is 10, and I'm unsure on Gold total, for the moment, draw up an equipment list with a limited amount of magic items and I'll decide based on the character and what I'm putting in the adventure.
Also, while in the realms of fantasy, since Avi will be away this weekend and we can't have a normal session, I was wondering if you guys would be interested in a Fantasy Hero one-shot, with a set of pre-generated characters (chosen at random the day of!)..?

I'd be up for a Fantasy Hero one-shot this weekend. I work until 5 on Saturday.

So the Fantasy Hero One-Shot will either be on saturday or sunday (to be decided once I know when we're all free). I've decided to let you guys have a decision on which character you'd like to play as opposed to randomly. However, you will not see the character sheets or know the full backstory, instead I'm going to post a blurb about each character (later) as if they were describing themselves to someone.

Not sure if I'm going to make the Fantasy Hero thing. More details forthcoming.
Also, I'm totally playing an Exotic Weapons Master.

Yea, I don't think it's gonna happen. I am busy tomorrow and sunday is father's day. So sadly a no-go on the fantasy hero one shot. Sorry guys.

The Fall of Iron Jaw
It should be a jubilant time in the Kingdom of Rania, the war has ended. The war with the Republic of Lillend was long and costly but in the end the Kingdom has triumphed and the farmlands of the Aracia province are now secured from the ever expanding Lillenders. However, dark times lay ahead for the recently ascended King (Lorence the Second). The war was costly, and it is taking a long time to heal the wounds it has left. Perhaps more importantly though, it is taking longer to provide the danger paid owed to those who have fought over the past decade and a half of war. A group of disillusioned soldiers lead by a former Colonel Saul "Iron Jaw" Chambers have formed a terrorist group known as the Forgotten Brigade. The Forgotten Brigade is causing trouble in the southern provinces. Troubles which could lead to an all out rebellion if they are not put down now. All attempts at negotiations have failed, which has left the king with little choice. King Lorence the Second, formerly Prince Lorence the Daring has called forth the remnants of loyalist forces, and a special team of loyalists and nobles to lead them. His goal is to reign in the Forgotten Brigade by any means necessary. For King and Country!
So the adventure idea has turned from a whacky homage to the Expedition to the Barrier Peaks, to a more interesting story that will revolve around political intrigue, cloak and dagger stealth, and intense combat. Your characters are essentially the best and brightest the Kingdom of Rania has. Each of you is either a noble, prominent figure in politics or religion, or a well known loyalist soldier who has risen through the ranks during the past 15 years of war. The one thing which is tying you together is that you are loyal to the King.
Level: 10 Abilities: Standard rolling, no stats below 11 before racial modifiers Gold: 30,000
If you wish to know anything about the country of Rania and recent events shoot me an im or something.
