As I am sure you all know this is a basic overview of the story so far...
After arriving in the small port city of Endport, you eventually found your way to the affectionately dubbed Old Man's manor. After breifly informing you of the barbarians you would be fighting, he sent you off into the world. Within moments you found yourself defending the city gates from barbarian attack. You and two local guards were sent out to defeat the barbarians once and for all.
Once on the road and into the wilderness you came upon a homestead. After a small amount of deliberation between yourselves, you entered to enjoy some dinner. The homestead was attacked shortly into the dinner by both barbarians and gnolls! With dazzling manuevers you struck down your foes quickly.
Eventually you came upon the encampment, Sidithicus (Rob's ranger character) picked off a few of the wall guards to allow you a holding from which to launch an assualt. Once realizing there was a small party going on, you decided to light fires to kill any barbarians not attending the festivities. After setting a few huts aflame, you drew the attention of the whole force, within moments you were in a battle against the whole encampment, fires still raging you struck from the wall until the fires were magically quelched and the Barbarians stopped in a stand still.
A figure approached, calling out to you saying that small instigations such as yourselves, were no match for his people's might. In a foolhardy display of power, you killed him instead of trying to gain information from him. The barbarians and gnolls being confused ran off leaving you their treasure.
On the return voyage the guards were killed by bears, and you met an odd elf sorcerer known as Jim. On your return to town, Illfonto the Paladin buried the men. After reporting to the old man, you were off into the wilderness to explore, After a few run-ins with the local wildlife, you were attacked by Barghests, large blue-furred wolf like creatures, many of you were downed in that battle, and if not for the assistance of Bob and Bill (the kindest Half-Orcs in the land), many of you would be dead, they took the dying Jim back to town for further assistance.
Once more in town, you did some shopping and Jim after a futile attempt to break into a store in early evening without lockpicks was arrested by the constabulary. After returning to your favorite tavern/inn, The Midshipmen's Rest, you too were arrested as accomplices to gambling and disturbing the peace (though the characters who claimed you of gambling were quite shady). After convincing the guards you were wrongfully arrested, you were able to investigate further.
Your investigation lead you to a small warehouse. Once inside you were attacked by black skeletons, that were far stronger than normal skeletal warriors. You quickly descended into a hole and were attacked by cultists after they were spurred against you by their leader. After defeating the cultists, Jim the Elf and a companion barbarian (Tempura the Wild Elf) arrived, and thanks to a lure created by Sidithicus, you were able to gain an advantage over two Gricks making their home under the speaking platform. With some artful disguises, Jim was able to infiltrate a few of the remaining cultists, which allowed you to pull a trap upon them, and then you ended up fighting one of the cult heads. Jim found a magical sword within the cult head's chamber. After further exploration you came upon the next cult leader, with him dead you rested, only to end up fighting multiple undead, who were able to paralyze you. Here Jim's new sword healed him when he fell unconscious. Next, Jim investigated the Cult Leader's chambers only to be struck multiple times in melee, his barbarian companion died defending him. Sidithicus and Elfspawn (avi's cleric) entered the battle quickly to avoid being killed outright. Once done with the cultists, you were able to free a Gold Dragon they had imprisoned who gave you a crytic warning, "The Chromatic Dragon is awakening..."
After this you were summoned to the Old Man's manor once more and sent off to investigate cult activity. After a run in with a Displacer Beast, you arrived in the town. After a few interrogations of the townspeople during a party (that was thrown to avoid the fact that Sidithicus had been planning on burning the vilalge to the ground) it became clear a few of them were hiding something. You were attacked by cultists who possesed and odd and powerful fire spell, and a snake-person. Following a fleeing attacker you found your way into an ancient temple. After a few battles where Sidithicus' new Camel companion "Lightning" and Illfonto's Magical horse "Ortaiga" assited you greatly, you all found yourselves inside a chamber filled with cultists dropping dead, an odd cleric who had no legs, and a templar. The Templar wielding two longswords struck at you fast and furiously, though you eventually overcame him and retrieved a map.
After consulting the map, you learned of an attack by the snake-people (Yuan-Ti) on the town of Midport (a town aptly named Midport, since it lies in the middle of the island and along a river that connects the two major cities). After gathering forces, you were off to the town. Along the way it was revealed that the "Old Man" was in fact a powerful cleric by the name of Rurik Vangar. Upon arrival to the town, you set to work fortifing it. After rallying the soldiers you were ready for a true battle.
Now in the early dawn, the stage is set for a grand battle. The enmy forces are far larger than anticipated, not only are Yuan-Ti there, but humans, barabarians, gnolls and what look like massive ant people stand in the field ahead of you. What mysteries lie in this group, and what exactly is their plan...*music plays in the background, think end of Yu Yu Hakusho where they make it seem all evil and devastating*
