What part of 'grand total of 5' confuses you? The 'grand' part I'd guess. ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) Also, Nimbus of Light is cool. Illumination over a 30ft radius and 1d8+1/Lvl damage (no limit!). And you can spontaneously convert it to a CLW spell. There are a lot of cool domains in Complete Divine, such as the Force domain, which grants you access to cool Wiz/Sor spells. According to the CD, it glows like a lantern. It only takes a move action to light it, and then a standard action to actually use it.

I'm well aware that the grand total of first level spells is 5, but one has to be either Endure Elements or Magic Weapon. Therefore, I don't really count it with the other ones.
And I still don't get the spontaneous casting thing. It says that you "lose" a prepared spell to cast a C_W spell, but does that mean that it just uses a spell per day to cast the C_W, or does it remove a prepared spell in exchange to cast a C_W?

Ok here's how it works let's say your prepared spells for the day are:
Sanctuary 2 Nimbus of Lights Cure Light Wounds
In battle you use up both of your Nimbus of Light spells and your Cure Light Wounds spell, but Avi's character is in need of healing. You'll swap out your prepared Sanctuary spell for a Cure Light Wounds spell to heal Avi, this swap occurs as you need it or in other words spontaneously. So when you need to heal someone you can swap out one of you non-C_W spells for a C_W spell, and cast it (note the swap and casting occur at the same time), thus using up that spell.

Wait, so that means I have to chose a certain amount of spell uses that I will use, like one use of Sanctuary, as opposed to select a spell and use it as many times as my spells per day allows?

I guss you don't understand the idea of preparing spells. Every day, you choose what spells you will use that day, so yes you must choose how many, and which spells to use.

The art of spellcasting keeps one busy...

Yeah, I didn't know that I had to pick how many times I would cast a certain spell. Thanks for clearing that up.

Major time change, no longer 3-9 but it is now 2-8 because my mother doesn't want you all hear till nine, but she's fine with you being here for large amounts of time, just not till 9...
Oh btw, I know many people have often asked the question: Mark it's nice out, and you got tables outside, why don't we play D&D out there? or perhaps it was just Vinny and Rob, but anyway she says that we must play outside as long as weather permits it a.k.a. warm, and no wind.

Another also important note, I as wondering you guys wanted to go with the campaign I already set forth, or if you'd be more interested in a real gritty dungeon crawl type campaign, in which you explore and plunge the ruins of Xen'drik, continent of mysteries?

I think Tynan's in a parade until 3 tomorrow.
And as for the dungeoncrawl: meh.

"Wonders? Perils? Mystery? Ooo! Let's see!", to quote Elan. Whichever one has more treasure and undead things is fine by me.

I'd rather explore above-ground Eberron with a bit of dungeoncrawl rather than a full-blown crawl.

Both will be fairly equal in dungeon crawling, combat, but the first one has more money and the second more treasure and enemy variety. It is more of a matter of preference:
First one-You will deal with multiple groups, and stay on the main continent, searching to determine multiple mysteries of the Last War.
Second one-You will deal mainly with one or two groups, see a large amount of the world off the main continent, and learn about the ancient history of the world.

I vote for the second one just for more treasure!
