Exactly. And imagine that guy just a bit crazier. I am thinking that he will hopefully have a 22 or so Wealth (6 from dillatant or whatever it's called, 1 from 1 rank in profession, and hopefully 5 from the rolls) so that I can buy the Barrett Light Fifty easier, so with that amount of wealth he'll have had dinosaurs and dodos cloned just so he could hunt them down.

No offense but wouldn't Adventurer make a better starting occupation? After all it literally describes the occupation as a number of hunters (big-game being one of them) and thrill-seekers. Plus it's skill choices are a bit more angled to give you better class skill choices, plus another feat (Brawl, Personal Firearms Proficiency, or Archaic Weapons Proficiency). Meanwhile, all dilletene gives you is some skills that don't really apply well to being out in the bush. All that it has going for you is the wealth bonus. Plus, just a note on the Barrett Light Fifty that you might not be aware of. First and foremost it is a military sniper rifle, it seemed I was off on my thoughts that it was also used for hunting, it's not (it is however based off of a number of good hunting rifles), it is considered SASR or "Special Application Scoped Rifle", meaning that this isn't something even regularly used it's for special and certain scenarios where you need to go through concrete, shoot out truck engines, or fire from a very VERY long range. Also, it is not shoulder fired, meaning your character would have to literally take up a position set up his gun and then take his shot from either a prone or at best crouched position. This is not something that would really be used for hunting when cheaper less suspicious options are available. A big game hunter with a hunting rifle is not surprising it's normal, a big game hunter with a military grade anti-matter capable sniper rifle raises a lot of questions, just what sort of animals are you taking down that you need to fire bullets that can take out 18-wheeler engines? EDIT: I also went a step further looking for guns appropriate for hunting things like tigers, bears, and elephants, finding an article specifically about matching the bore of your weapon to your prey, and even at the highest and most dangerous level (Thick Skinned Dangerous Game, i.e. charging elephants and rhinos) most of the calibers fall around the .400s and are single bolt actions (semi-auto would be preferred because obviously they charge fast) so game stat wise they do about 2d10 damage. Still though I am looking to see if there are stats for an Elephant Gun floating about.

Alright! So then through my searching, the only thing that could come close to the Barret Light Fifty and be an actual hunting rifle was the Buffalo Rifle produced during the mid to late 1800s. This was a big .50 caliber rifle, single shot (and single bullet too, meaning you'd have to reload every shot) made to take down a buffalo with one well placed shot. Game-stat wise it did do 2d12 damage. Of course, in the modern world these things are no longer produced, meaning it's Purchase DC would go up quite a bit since to make something like it or find one still in working condition is a hard thing, it was originally (in 1866) a PDC of 20, modern day I'd say at least 25 if not 28 or 30 (depending on how you got it, personal request, searched for an older one, newly created personalized model, etc.).

That does make sense. Adventurer it is, then. I now have a free feat thanks to the bonus feat Personal Firearms Proficiency, so I guess I can take Light Armor Proficiency. Just a light undercover shirt or something.
I'll go with the Winchester 94. At least I can get 6 shots off before reloading, rather than shoot once then reload with the Buffalo Rifle. Of course, I'll be taking Quick Reload as soon as possible.

Don't forget that in d20, mastercraft items yield an AC bonus as well as increasing max Dex and decreasing the armor check penalty. Armor Proficiency is definitely a good thing to have.

It doesn't yield all those at once, you have to pick them.

Actually, scratch Daredevil. I'll go Soldier instead. It says nothing about being part of the military to become one, so I am guessing I can take it.

Don't be off put by the names of advanced classes, most of them are pretty meaningless. The soldier is the most widely recognized, mainly because it's really just: combat specialist, weapon master, etc. Anyone who is really good with guns or swords or whatever. Though I did think the Daredevil fit your concept as well... Anyone else got anything?

Hmm, maybe I'll go into Daredevil as earlier planned, and after a few levels take up Soldier. Seems good, since Soldier offers a lot of the Dnd Fighter-exclusive stuff, and Daredevil has some cool things like Nip-Up, Action Boost, and Adrenaline Rush.
Yeah, Tough 2/Fast 2/ Daredevil 2/Soldier 2 looks good for the first 8 levels. I don't have to keep them even with each other, do I? You know, can't go more than 1 level in a class ahead of the other classes without suffering Exp. penalties?

There are no multiclassing penalties in modern.

Someone should play a cowboy, just cause they can.
Oh, and I've been wondering how you're going to do the whole zombie thing, Mark. For example, if you're bit or killed by one, do you become a zombie? And is it going to be that a bunch of dead corpses just become animated somehow, through radiation or something? Or just some subterrainian lifeforms that come to the surface to wreak havoc?

Ummm... Those are all secret behind-the-screen things that will be part of the campaign mystery. Haven't you ever seen a zombie movie or game or something...

Meh.
Oh, and I rethought it, and I'm gonna go with my original plan of Daredevil without Soldier. I actually need to gain a BAB, can't just keep on bouncing from one class to the next.

Hmn... I'm thinking of doing an EMT/paramedic. I can drive an ambulance through oncoming traffic and treat injuries...
