This campaign is still in the fledgling stage but it'll start soon enough.
The northwest region of the kingdom of Tyne has been receiving many immigrants from the north. Formerly nomads in the plains and on the foothills of the Dwarven holds, the predominantly gnome and half-giant tribes are moving down south seeking refuge from plagues starving their people. These are the few survivors of some unnatural blight on their land. There have been various search parties commissioned by the Prince into the lands north of the mountains but all are presumed lost. The Adventurer's Union has posted a call for those to volunteer to both map these still-mysterious lands and lift the blight.
Of course, you all will heed the call -- one of many search parties. It's a basic campaign setting; mostly core rules will be allowed. You can only be a core race, or half-giant. And no psionics. Roll up a level 3 character using the standard 4d6 drop lowest method, and no score below 8*. Also, you must be nonevil, though I might allow neutral evil...
Well we'll see how it plays out, I think I'll just randomly through shit at you guys along the way, until you get to some sort of plot or plot hook. Good ol' hack-n-slash, eh? I won't go easy on you, you'll need an effective cleric (ie, not Steve, and can just maybe turn undead)). Figure out all that other stuff later. Also, let's say you have a wealth = base gp for your class + 500. Get crackin'
*I'll be a bit flexible on this. I was going to go with the 28 point buy method, but you guys like this, right... Well, I want you to have one high and one low stat; I'll allow you to change some if I feel they're too low and maybe make you change some if I feel they're too high. Also, that's lowest score of 8 AFTER you do mods. Actually you just may want to confer with me about all that shit. IM/Email <<
