Well Ill start you off easy,
A dune is a hill or ridge of wind-blown (or starrs-sister-blown) sand commonley found in the desert.
(just a little historic background)
Okay then... Now Dune is a science fictional novel written by Frank Herbert that was published in 1965. It mostly takes place on the planet Arrakis where all these guys are fighting for some spice thats only found on that planet, but more importantly, guys ride fucking sandworms!!! Theres more to it but i really only remember the sandworms cause theyre so awesome. They put Jaws to shame.

Ah. I already knew what a dune was, but not Dune. Sounds cool, since there are sandworms that I guess would swallow people whole.

It could swallow a tank whole. Hell i think it does actually....
Ya know now that i think about it, Dune pretty much is a mystical Middle Eastern experiance....

Well... From the looks of it we have a lot of votes for the Desert Campaign. Brian, Steve, and Avi said online. It will take a bit of work on my part to assemble a campaign setting that's good enough to capture the proper feel we're all shooting for (especially if we want something Dune-esque) as well as seed it with proper adventures. I am not saying that I want to do a desert campaign as much as some other options, but I will do it if everyone wants to.

Ya know I have an idea for M&M that I've been kicking around for a few months, and I was wondering if you guys might be interested in it (it's not part of the original choices btw). Here's the idea, now we all know the idea between Super-Hero academies, like say Professor X's Institute. You're trained to be good, upstanding, proper citizens, use your powers for the good of your community. Now then, in this campaign, the academy the characters would attend is the opposite, a school where they teach you to use your powers for the good of yourself and for the reasons you think are right, with your methods. A school for aspiring super-villains, mercenaries, people who want to use their powers to gain power in the non-super world (business for example), or just your blood thirsty vengeful darker hero. Of course, the main idea of the campaign is not only this, but the idea that your characters would be a mix from those people who really want to be supervillains, to the kids that aren't so sure and are here because they think they're just learning to use their powers, maybe not even realizing what kind of people the faculty really is. Also, would give us a new look on super-heroes, because you'd be seeing them through the eyes of the villains they mercilessly beat (or perhaps were so merciful it was insulting). What do you all think?

Meh...
Instead of a desert campaign, can we do like... a frigid tundra-like/arctic campaign? Like really cold, cold shit. Lots of snow, ice, all that jazz.
Maybe with a snowcone machine or something.
It's really fucking hot outside.

Yeah, and then when winter comes we can play outside!...
but yea Im really up for anything. I mean, I really wanna ride a sandworm with a turban on now, but I also wanna be a super hero/villain too.... Im torn inside....

I don't think anyone ever got the Dune game to work, don't worry (all these years, I thought it was just me). Ya know Avi, I wish I had known about your desire to play an artic campaign, before I deleted the massive amount of info I had on an Ice Age world. But yea, that super school one was just something I have rattling around in my head and that Tynan liked so I tossed it up.

Alright so it has been decided. Our next campaign shall be d20 Modern using the d20 Apocalypse supplement (and possibly Future, maybe...maybe) for a zombie apocalyspe that will combine aspects of horror and action and post-apocalyptic survival to make a stellar modern campaign. To appease everyone's desire for the desert it will be set first in Los Angeles and probably you'll get out into the hot southwest or something...there just might be sand worms though not as big as Dune Sandworms, I am thinking a Tremors feel perhaps at some point...

That was on a few days ago on Sci-Fi, and I watched it to see what the campaign would be sorta like.
Are we gonna get to throw homemade bombs into the throats of giant sand-dwelling bugs and act all concerned for our fellow man when he's about to be eaten, only to forget all about him once the battle's won?
